One of the features that has made JDownloader a success is its capacity of easily downloading files from services such as MegaUpload and Rapidshare, automatically and sequentially processing all files you add to the queue, whether you are a premium user or not. I did try installing it whilst disconnected from the internet but the installation just hung so I've wiped all traces of it from my laptop and will try IDM instead.JDownloader is a free, open-source application that will help you download files from several different hosting services on the internet, optimizing downloads and letting you manage multiple active transfers from its own interface. So, even though I was using the old installation software which I'd not had a problem with previously, it was sending out to the JD website to download 'something else'. Thought I'd be clever and use the installer exe file that I still had on my old laptop from a couple of years ago which Norton said was completely safe.īUT.I immediately got a Norton warning that it had blocked JD from trying to install a Trojan, and that there had been' suspicious outgoing traffic'. Reloaded all software one-by-one until it became obvious that JD was the problem. Tried everything to get rid of it - in the end, I did a factory reset on my laptop. Got a new laptop, carefully loaded latest version of JD and it introduced malware ('Search Know Ads', and kept switching my homepage to Yahoo). I've used JDownloader for years without a problem. Just loading an older version didn't work for me.
